Schiffliz is an Indian clothing label that makes women’s everyday wear in pure cotton schiffli embroidery — the eyelet and cutwork fabric many Indians know as Hakoba.
We design kurta sets, dresses, tops, shirts and co-ord sets in sizes S to XXL, produce them in small batches, and ship free across India. Prices currently range from ₹749 to ₹1,999.

What is schiffli embroidery?
Schiffli embroidery is a machine embroidery technique that produces eyelets, cutwork and scalloped lace patterns on fabric. It was developed in Switzerland in the 1860s, and the name comes from the Swiss German word “schiffli,” meaning “little boat,” after the boat-shaped shuttle the machine uses. In India, schiffli cotton is widely called Hakoba, and it has been a summer staple in Indian wardrobes for decades.

Schiffli has a timeless charm, but we wanted to give it a modern life through shirts, tops, kurtis, co-ords, and dresses that feel fresh, wearable, and relevant.

How Schiffliz clothing is made
- Fabric: pure cotton with schiffli eyelet, cutwork or scalloped lace embroidery.
- Production: small, intentional batches (“drops”) rather than mass production.
- Sizing: S, M, L, XL and XXL.
- Natural variation: because schiffli is an embroidered fabric made in small batches, slight differences in colour, embroidery placement and lace detail are normal.
Caring for schiffli cotton
Hand wash or gentle machine wash in cold water, inside out. Dry in shade to protect colour. Iron on the reverse side on medium heat, and avoid pulling or snagging the eyelets and lace edges.
